Quick Observations

For those of you who watched the WWE’s Cruiser Weight Classic, you might have seen an image that should not surprise you if you read this blog. The King of Kings has taken another step in his grab for power and extended his presence to the cruiserweight division on RAW. For those of you counting at home, he’s now been directly responsible for the crowning of 2/5 of the champions on RAW. He’s doing whatever he can to expand his power now that its seemingly been usurped by his wife and Mick Foley. Anyways, enough pro wrestling for one week. Let’s check in on those gambling predictions from last week: Lamar Miller rushing title – Currently leading the league Cowboys to have worst record – 0 and 1 Kirk Cousins…

Sports Entertainment

We talked about some NFL Picks last week, and I’m here to make a few more. First, I never said who was going to win that Super Bowl match-up. Apparently, everyone in Vegas agrees with me that the Green Bay Packers hoist their fifth Lombardi trophy because tons of money has been coming in on Rodgers and company from what ESPN reported this morning. It makes sense too, as their odds on Bovada have jumped from 10:1 in June to 6:1 currently. For those of you who aren’t aware of how sports betting works, 6:1 means that betting 100 dollars wins you 700 in return – 600 plus your initial bet of 100. Talking about gambling has me all fired up now, so that’s going to be the theme of…

2016 NFL Predictions

Let’s get on the record here, shall we? That way, I can brag later this year when I’m right and, if I’m terribly wrong, I can delete the post. Wait, that implies there’s any level of accountability with sports predictions. If that were the case, no one on any major sports platform would have a job. That’s comforting thought, and it’s really fueling the fires of my desire to YOLO. So, without further ado, here we go. AFC East Champion – New England Boring pick, sure, but do you really think the collection of Ryan Tannehill, Tyrod Taylor, and Ryan Fitzpatrick can take down the Patriots? Even with 12 games of Brady, probably not. Though Buffalo and New York will be pesky. I wouldn’t be surprised to see either…

The Greatest Story Ever Told

Monday night, on WWE’s flagship show “Monday Night Raw”, we saw a four way match that would determine the holder of the company’s new Universal Championship. The match was between former champions Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, former NXT (if you’re not familiar, this is WWE’s minor leagues, essentially) champion Kevin Owens, and really tall guy Big Cass. After a grueling half hour of competition which whittled the match down to Rollins, Reigns, and Owens, we saw the shocking return of the company’s COO HHH who promptly delivered his signature maneuver, the pedigree, to both Reigns and Rollins. This essentially handed the championship to Kevin Owens. For those of you wondering “why was a man not involved in the match allowed to determine the outcome” or “shouldn’t the…

More thoughts on Karazhan

I promise, at some point, I’ll post about something other than a children’s card game. Next week, I’m going to make some NFL predictions (spoiler alert: I’m going to look like a homer… Go Pack Go) and I’ll probably go off on a tangent about the WWE because the Miz is just too good to ignore right now. But, for now, I’ll stick to the black hole where I waste my time that is Hearthstone. Yesterday, Blizzard released new cards from the One Night in Karazhan adventure, most notably Purify (on the “bad end”) and Menagerie Warden (on the “good end”). These are the cards on which I’m going to focus today, because I think they’re worth talking about for one reason or another. First, Purify. If you’re reading…

Praise be to the new Gods

It’s only been one week since the release of Morose and I’m already deeply in love with this card if only for the reason that it allowed me to rebuild my beloved, cancerous Secret Paladin deck. Once again my opponents are crumbling before the harrowing question “Who am I?” and the chilling response, cutting you off before you can interject, stating “None of your business”. The Decklist is something like: 2x Competitive spirit 2x Get down 2x Redemption 2x Secret Keeper 2x Selfless Hero 2x Argent Protector 2x Follow the Rules 1x Moroes 2x Rallying Blade 2x Steward of Darkshire 2x Consecration 2x Keeper of Uldaman 2x Truesilver Champion 1x Justicar Truehart 2x Mysterious Challenger 1x Fire Rag 1x Tirion Fordring My win rate is around 70 percent and…

Predictions and Rants for Karazhan

At around 1 PM central time tomorrow (or maybe the day after, depending upon the servers) the newest expansion for Hearthstone entitled “One Night in Karazhan” will be released to the public for purchase and I gotta say, I’m really, really excited for this. I understand that a lot of the player base is in some sort of uproar about how terrible that expansion is, but then I remember that people have a really good habit of never being pleased with anything. In my eyes, one of my choice activities is about to get a bunch of new content introduced into the game that I can use. The children’s card game gets to be a little more complex. Plus, there’s going to be a shit ton of stupid…

And his name is…

No, it’s not John Cena. Though it wouldn’t be a mistake to have that name stuck in your head right now. He’s a movie star, he’s hosting awards shows, he’s a fifteen time heavyweight champion and most importantly – he’s a trumpet blaring, god-tier meme. John Cena, the face that runs the place, is one of the most popular superstars in not only the WWE, but at this point in time, probably the entire world. Once one of the most hated men in the company, Cena has managed to turn the steaming vitriol of the WWE universe into an, albeit begrudged, respect. The hatred of the fans was mostly due to the fact that, however hard they voiced their opinion either in the arenas or on the corners…

Welcome to the salt mine

I really like playing Hearthstone. I think it’s a pretty great game and there are a lot of interesting mechanics. I mean, enjoy it so much that I’m starting up this blog so that I can write about it. Well, that and so I can opine about whatever else I’m thinking about. People at work are tired of hearing me call Kevin Durant a pussy and listen to me giving them stock advice, so now I’m going to leak whatever’s on my mind out here for you to read. All of that said, as much as I enjoy Hearthstone, there’s a least one interaction in the game each day that drives me to seriously re-consider my life decisions in terms of the time I spend playing this game.…
